The transformer is the power source and converts the house’s electrical current into a low voltage. This low voltage is then sent to the doorbell button, which triggers the chime when you press the button.
The chime is the part of the doorbell that makes the sound when you press the button. It’s usually placed inside the house, but you can also place it outside too. When you press the button, the low voltage from the transformer is sent to the chime, which makes the sound.
